Since 2013, Minnesota State IT Center of Excellence (MnStateITCoE) has provided classrooms with students in grades 8-12 with a no-cost, semester-long curriculum to incite a revolution of hands-on technology learning that prepares students for workspaces that require technical competence. As all workplaces become more technology dependent, so does the need for young talent that embraces all things technical, loves to experiment and solve problems, and has a curiosity thirst that defies satisfaction.
When it comes to digital literacy and helping students to possess micro sharp technology skills, the expectation for Minnesota’s middle and high school classrooms is BIG and growing BIGGER by the nanosecond. Addressing technology learning needs doesn’t have to be a daunting task for teachers not steeped in computer science knowledge. In fact, most teachers aren’t tech wizards. So, how can Minnesota schools be as dynamic as the emergent technologies that are reshaping the workplace, and drumming up demand for tech talent to solve business problems and initiate exciting new business opportunities?
IT Exploration (ITX) is the answer.
Classroom materials and resources made easy for teachers in need of a technology instruction confidence boost, as well as resources for seasoned technology teachers in need of the most up-to-date, smartly packaged technology materials, classroom activities, learning assessments, and standards-aligned curriculum.
